First Week After MVP Launch: What to Do
You launched. Congrats. Now the real work starts. The first week sets the trajectory for everything after.
Day 1: Monitor Everything
- •Watch analytics in real-time
- •Monitor error logs and alerts
- •Respond to every support message within an hour
- •Fix critical bugs immediately
- •Screenshot and save all feedback
Days 2-3: Talk to Users
- •Email everyone who signed up—ask for a 15-min call
- •Ask: What made you try this? What almost stopped you?
- •Watch them use the product if possible
- •Note exact words they use (for marketing later)
Days 4-5: Double Down or Adjust
By now you have data. Make decisions.
- •What's the drop-off point in your funnel?
- •Are people paying? If not, why?
- •What feature requests keep coming up?
- •Is your positioning resonating?
Days 6-7: Ship One Improvement
- •Pick the ONE thing that will move the needle most
- •Ship it by end of week
- •Tell your users you listened and built it
- •This builds trust and momentum
What NOT to Do Week 1
- •Build new features (focus on what's live)
- •Worry about scale (you don't have that problem yet)
- •Go silent—be extremely responsive
- •Ignore negative feedback (it's gold)
- •Compare yourself to established competitors
The goal of week 1 isn't growth. It's learning. Every conversation with a user is worth more than 100 website visitors.
